Standard 360 DVD-9 (redump serial AV-2179) also ships in the guitar-controller bundle and Super/Band bundle. Software-only copies work with existing GH instruments; the new guitar moved wireless electronics into the fretboard so the body can be swapped. First million North American launch units included Soundgarden’s Telephantasm CD (VGCollect lists it on the guitar bundle); “Black Rain” is on-disc, the rest of the album was day-one DLC. No Platinum Hits edition is listed on redump.

• Quest Mode, narrated by Gene Simmons, unlocks eight character powers that can push a song well past the old five-star cap.
• The campaign’s centerpiece is Rush’s full seven-part “2112”; Megadeth wrote “Sudden Death” for the final Beast fight.
• More than 90 songs on disc; GH5-era DLC and a Guitar Hero: Metallica import pack were usable at launch.
• Last main Guitar Hero developed by Neversoft; Vicarious Visions handled the Wii port, not this 360 disc.
